⇒ to communicate (with s.o.), send (s.o.) information about o.s.:

⇒ not to let one's presence go unnoticed or be forgotten:

The storm was somewhere way out in the open sea, and it only made itself felt here by pounding at the beaches with powerful, if slightly indolent blows (8a).
